It's such a shame. I bet Shapiro "tampered" with Brian by telling him that they had no money to offer him.
Well, maybe that would be the opposite of tampering, perhaps pampering?

The comment from the Indians own pitching coach was that "Brian Anderson is beginning to develop a style similar to Jamie Moyer".
Anderson was giving up more than one hit an inning because he WALKS BARELY TWO BATTERS PER 9 INNINGS!
But a few of you IGNORE his low walks total and instead focus on his hits per inning.
sheesh, Anderson went 5-1 for Kansas City and when combined with his time with Cleveland was 14-11 with SEVERAL blown games while with the Indians.
Anderson easily should have been a 16-17 game winner last season. That is definitely worth 3 million a year two year deal and once again, Brian Anderson's rah rah, back it up with excellent training habits routine was crucial to the continued development of our younger pitchers.

Anderson, I believe, also benefitted the most from unearned runs.
He very well could develop into a Jamie Moyer.
He could also regress into Brian Anderson.
Its great that KC could use the money from losing Ibanez to keep Anderson, Randa, and the other player (whose name I cannot remember).
But that was just a bit too much for Anderson.

benefitted the most is an oxymoron.
However, those unearned runs may have helped him in the ERA department but they definitely hurt him in the Won Loss Department.
BA was an excellent role model for our young pitching staff, and yes, I'd give him a million extra a year for that.
